Despite New Orleans' record, the Saints still have the No. 1 overall offense in the league. I just can't see the Bucs hanging with Drew Brees.
Although Tampa Bay's defense (No. 26 overall) has played well during the second half of the season, it hasn't been getting any help from an offense that's ranked No. 31. The defense might be able to slow Brees for a while. But Tampa Bay’s defenders eventually will wear down.
That's because the Bucs have no running game to keep Brees and the New Orleans offense off the field. They gained only 16 yards on the ground in last Sunday's loss to Green Bay. The Tampa Bay ground game has a chance to make some unwanted history.
The Bucs currently have 1,192 rushing yards this season. The lowest total of rushing yards in franchise history was 1,290 in 1993. That means the Bucs have to gain at least 99 yards to avoid tying or breaking the record. I don’t think they can do it.
My prediction: Saints 31, Bucs 13
