Let’s run through where the Tennessee Titans stand in key categories through seven games.
Overall, offensive and defensive rankings, and rushing and passing rankings are based on yardage, and yardage isn't the most important thing.
Points are the most important thing, and third down is quite important, too.
The final rankings from 2012 are included for comparison:
The rushing defense is the concern that pops off the screen for me here. During the three-game losing streak, the team has dropped 10 spots, from 14th to 19th to 24th as it has given up 120, 151 and 153 net yards rushing. That's contributed to bad time-of-possession numbers for the offense. Kansas City, Seattle and San Francisco are good running teams. But the Titans' next opponent, St. Louis, is averaging just 71 yards a game.
