MIAMI - The Miami Heat will likely be without star guard Dwyane Wade for Wednesday night's home game against the Indiana Pacers because of a lingering foot injury.
Wade sat out of the team's morning shootaround at AmericanAirlines Arena to receive another round of treatment on his bruised left foot. He sustained the injury in the first half of last Wednesday's game at Charlotte, but returned late in the second half and made the game-winning shot for Miami.
Since then, Wade has struggled offensively while trying to play through the injury and said that the pain in his foot increased after Monday's 100-92 home loss against the Atlanta Hawks. It was the second game in as many nights for the Heat, and was also the third game Wade played since hurting his foot.
With the Heat set to travel on a five-game trip after facing Indiana, coach Erik Spoelstra said the team was weighing whether to rest Wade on Wednesday in hopes he might feel better and be available to play during the trip.
Wade spoke at length about his injury after Wednesday's shootaround.
