Indiana Pacers guard Stephen Jackson will be in Rochester Hills District Court today to be arraigned on charges he violated his probation, court officials and his attorney said.
Jackson, 28, pleaded not guilty last month in a Marion County, Ind., court to felony and misdemeanor charges of firing a gun in the air during a fight outside an Indianapolis strip club Oct. 6.
Jackson's Bloomfield Hills-based attorney, James Burdick, said those charges were ridiculous.
"He won't be convicted of anything," Burdick said. He said Jackson fired his gun in self-defense.
As I understand it, Jackson can be found to have violated the conditions of his probabtion (which presumably could mean time behind bars) whether or not he is found guilty on the charges stemming from his latest "incident."
UPDATE: Jackson plead not guilty to violating probation.
