Etan Thomas book signings for those of you in the D.C. area.
Eddie Johnson filed a defamation lawsuit against Skip Bayless, the Chicago Tribune, and Georgia Television Company. The part involving Bayless has been settled for an undisclosed amount. The other suits remain active.
The Blazers are making a strong move for a high draft pick, having ditched nine of their last eleven. Just for fun, I decided to take this Steve Patterson quote (from a Jason Quick article) out of context to make it seem like he's saying the players should intentionally lose games to help land Greg Oden (when in fact he's explaining why he won't bring in an overpriced veteran): "It's an emotional thing that surely you have to fight everyday, because everybody wants to win. But you have to stay focused on what is the right thing to do for the franchise in the long run. You can't make emotional, off-the-cuff decisions. You have to step back and take the emotions out of it and do the right thing."
