LeBron James made 10 field goals from inside 5 feet of the basket in Game 4, tying his season high for makes from such distances, done previously in Game 4 of the Eastern Conference semifinals.
However, James stopped going inside in the second half. He made only 2-of-4 shots from inside five feet in the second half. James was 10-for-14 from in-close in this game. His teammates were a combined 8-for-16.
A Game Most Foul
James fouled out of a playoff game for the first time in his career. It was only the fourth time in his career that he fouled out of any game, the first for him since April 2008.
In contrast, Pierce fouled out for the third time this postseason. Coming into these playoffs, he had fouled out of a postseason game only three times in his career.

Udonis Haslem missed an 18-foot jumper with no time remaining in regulation and the score tied 89-89.

Rondo finished with 13 assists. It was the 38th time he had reached double digits in assists in a postseason game in his career. That tied him with Bob Cousy for the most such games in Celtics history.
With his first three points in Game 3, the 27-year-old James became the youngest player in NBA playoff history to reach 3,000 career points. The previous mark was held by Kobe Bryant, who reached 3,000 points at age 28.
