Linebacker David Harris has been assigned No. 51 with the Patriots. His role/skill set is similar to former Patriots LB Jerod Mayo, who also wore No. 51 during his playing days. Harris was No. 52 with the Jets. A related jersey note: Undrafted rookie LB Brooks Ellis had been No. 51, but has been switched to No. 47 to accommodate Harris.

Rutledge headed to 7-day DL

The Red Sox announced a series of moves on Saturday, which included placing INF Josh Rutledge on the seven-day concussion disabled list. Boston also added RHP Doug Fister to the roster, optioning Hector Velazquez to Triple-A Pawtucket, and selected the contract of Tzu-Wei Lin from Double-A Portland. To make room for Lin, Brock Holt (vertigo) was transferred to the 60-day DL.
