The Mariners signed Wade LeBlanc late in spring training only after he was released by the Yankees and after David Phelps blew out his elbow. He's been terrific since moved into the rotation — more injures opened up that opportunity — and he's retired the last 17 in a row against the Red Sox as the M's hold a 1-0 lead in the sixth.

Something worth noting when thinking about any (long-shot) Kawhi Leonard trade to NYK: Kyrie Irving had the Knicks on his list of trade destinations last summer. It's impossible, of course, to talk with any certainty about potential landing spots for Irving more than 12 months away from his free agency. Plenty can change between now and next July. But people around the league expect New York to remain a desired destination for Irving if he hits free agency next summer. And if Irving is interested in New York, you can be sure that the Knicks will be interested in Irving next summer, when they project to have significant cap space. But it's hard to see a scenario where New York can trade for Leonard, have enough money to sign Irving as a free agent and keep Kristaps Porzingis. Also, it's logical to assume that any deal that lands Leonard in New York would have to include the Knicks sending Porzingis to San Antonio.
