Patriots LS Joe Cardona's four-year extension includes $1 million guaranteed and $850,000 in bonuses. Salary-cap charges: 2018 - $860,000; 2019 - $955,000; 2020 - $990,000; 2021 - $965,000; 2022 - $1.21 million. The extension is a strong reflection of how the Patriots view Cardona's work on the field, and also as a strong locker-room and community presence. Meanwhile, Patriots FB James Develin's two-year extension through 2020 includes the following salary cap charges: 2018 -- $1.675 million; 2019 -- $1.7 million; 2020 -- $1.9 million. That's a win-win situation for a player who has said he wants to remain in New England and a team that likes to build quality depth at manageable financial figures.
