Stevens totaled 96 points with help from seven first-place votes but finished behind Houston's Mike D'Antoni (400 points), Miami's Erik Spoelstra (153), and San Antonio's Gregg Popovich (115).

Boston Celtics guard Isaiah Thomas finished fifth in the MVP voting. Thomas landed on 49 of 101 ballots and earned four third-place votes. Thomas finished behind only Russell Westbrook, James Harden, Kawhi Leonard, and LeBron James. Thomas finished one spot ahead of Steph Curry, who won the award in 2015 and 2016.
