David Price is still at least a few days from initiating a full-fledged throwing program after getting seen by the Red Sox's medical staff earlier today, according to manager John Farrell in his pregame meeting with reporters.

Too soon to know if reliever Tyler Thornburg (shoulder) will be ready for Opening Day, but even if he is, "hard to anoint Tyler Thornburg as our eighth-inning guy" right away, Red Sox manager John Farrell told reporters. Thornburg will pitch Friday, first game action in three weeks.
