Jackie Bradley Jr. "not worried" about his left thumb, which he said "bent in all directions" when he slapped home plate on a slide in the seventh inning Tuesday night. "It feels all right, I guess. As good as it can be after the injury." Described it as "just uncomfortable." X-rays negative, MRI Wednesday in Boston, will return to Cleveland in time for game but not likely to play.

Red Sox 9, Indians 1: Doug Fister threw a complete-game one-hitter in his best start as a member of the Red Sox. Fister gave up a leadoff homer, then didn't allow a hit to the next 28 batters. It was his eighth career complete game and the first in which he allowed one hit. Eduardo Nunez, another midseason pick-up, hit his fifth homer in 100 plate appearances with the Red Sox after going deep four times in 318 plate appearances with the Giants.

Jackie Bradley Jr. leaves with what the Red Sox are calling a "left thumb injury" on the play at the plate. More details after the game, presumably.

The Cavaliers-Celtics trade is the first offseason deal in NBA history with players who met in the previous year's NBA Finals or Conference Finals. (Via Elias Sports Bureau).

Astoundingly, only four of the 15 players from last year's Celtics team that made the Eastern Conference finals remain in Al Horford, Marcus Smart, Jaylen Brown, and Terry Rozier. Since the end of the season, the Celtics have traded Isaiah Thomas, Jae Crowder, and Avery Bradley, and bid farewell to key contributors in Amir Johnson, Kelly Olynyk, Gerald Green, and Jonas Jerebko.

Kyrie Irving went from 50-to-1 to 25-to-1 to win NBA MVP per Westgate Las Vegas SuperBook. Isaiah Thomas went from 30-to-1 to 100-to-1.

ESPN Stats and Information

Kyrie Irving was the No. 1 pick in the 2011 NBA Draft. Isaiah Thomas was the last pick (60th overall) in that same draft).

ESPN Stats and Information

Kyrie Irving averaged 22.4 points in 3 seasons with LeBron James, the most points by any James' teammate in his career.

By far the biggest question in this Kyrie Irving trade is the health of Isaiah Thomas. If he can get back to the level he was at last year, the Cavs may not miss much this year AND they get an exceptionally valuable draft pick. If not, Cleveland has a major problem to solve with IT due for a big contract For the Celtics, this is a huge risk/high reward move. If Kyrie is a true superstar, they both weakened the Cavs and got a great young player on a good contract. If not they could have just cashed in three great trade assets for a player who could leave in 2 years.
