The Boston Bruins have finally decided that this Matt Beleskey thing isn't working out, placing him on waivers on Thursday. He signed a five-year, $19-million free agent contract with the Bruins in July 2015, capitalizing on a career year of 22 goals and 10 assists with Anaheim. He had 15 goals and 22 assists in his first season in Boston; since then, he's battled through injuries and general ineffectiveness, with three goals and five assists in 49 games last season and no points in 14 games this season. His last goal was on March 15. He has two more years left on his deal with a $3.8 million cap hit, although his base salary drops from $4 million to $3 million next season. Will another general manager offer a change in scenery, or is the book on the 29-year-old winger that he was an offensive anomaly that was lucky to cash in when he did?
