Celtics guard Kyrie Irving on final play options: "We have end-of-game plays that we're prepared for but, in basketball, decisions are made and, as a team, we collectively have to live with the results. Tough shot at the end. Marcus took one and that's that."

Celtics guard Marcus Smart on the game's final shot: "With that short amount of time I wanted to make sure we got a shot up. It felt good when it left my hands. I thought it was going in. That's just how it goes. It's over with. We've got to turn around and try to come up with a win tomorrow."

Celtics coach Brad Stevens on Gordon Hayward being out west this week: "Basically, one of the things that we wanted to do with him was change his environment just to move a little bit. So he's going to be here for these two games [in Los Angeles] and then he will stay here in Southern California for a week or 10 days with a couple of our staff and then rejoin us in Boston." I'd say that the traveling looks like it could be early March ... He's still got a long way to go. But he's a really good spot shooter."

Al Horford on All-Star nod: "It makes me feel good because I feel like I've always taken a lot of pride in playing the right way and putting the team first always. The coaches have seen that and have rewarded me over the years. It's a big honor for me."

Brad Stevens on Al Horford's All-Star nod: "Totally deserved. It's good to see a guy that may not have the quote stats that other people have recognized for all that he brings to the table... He's a huge huge reason why we're where we are. And he has a huge influence on everybody in our locker room."

Celtics were disappointed last year when Al Horford didn't land an All-Star berth. Horford muscles his way to his fifth All-Star nod this year while leading the first-place Celtics in rebounding and assists. He's also just outside the NBA's top 10 in 3-point percentage.
