The Patriots officially placed RB Dion Lewis on the reserve/PUP list, according to ESPN NFL Insider Field Yates. This means Lewis will miss at least the first six games of the regular season, which was expected after it was learned Lewis would undergo a second surgery on his knee.

John Farrell on lack of defined setup roles in Red Sox bullpen: "I'd love to be able to sit here and say that [innings] 7, 8, 9 are outlined regardless of matchups. We don't have that type of bullpen." Farrell will continue to match up in close games with Brad Ziegler vs. right-handed hitters, Clay Buchholz vs. lefties. Nothing new on Andrew Benintendi's recovery from a sprained left knee in large part because it takes a full week for a custom brace to be constructed. The rookie left fielder won't receive his brace until next week's series in San Diego, according to Red Sox manager John Farrell, at which point Benintendi might be able to begin initiating baseball activities.

The Boston Bruins have signed veteran forward Dominic Moore to a one-year, one-way contract worth $900,000, the team announced Tuesday. Moore, 36, spent the past three seasons with the New York Rangers. During the 2015-16 season, he played in 80 games, registering six goals and nine assists for 15 point.

Betts, Ortiz make for rare 30-HR pair

The 23-year-old Mookie Betts joined 40-year-old teammate David Ortiz in the 30-homer club on Monday. The 1987 Tigers are the only other team in MLB history that has had a 40-year-old player and a player under the age of 25 each hit 30 HRs in the same season, per the Elias Sports Bureau.
