Chris Sale's day is done after 13 strikeouts and 93 pitches in seven innings. He threw 71 for strikes and had a pitch clocked at 100.5 mph -- apparently the fastest pitch he's ever thrown as a starter. I'm not sure how the Mariners got four hits off him.

Chris Sale just missed an Immaculate Inning, getting the first eight strikes before throwing a ball, and then striking out the side on his 10th pitch of the fifth. He has 10 K's through five, just 60 pitches, and it doesn't feel like the Mariners are going to score off him today unless they run into something.

The Mariners and Red Sox have played four innings in 1 hours, 2 minutes, as Chris Sale and Marco Gonzales are trading a bunch of zeroes. Sale has 7 K's and 39 of 50 pitches for strikes, while Gonzales has allowed one hit and is at 43 of 63 pitches for strikes.

Devers' great play gets spoiled by Moreland's drop (0:36)

Interesting replay overturn in Boston: The Red Sox had apparently tied the game on a bases-loaded wild pitch, but the Mariners appealed and it was ruled Rafael Devers had swung at the pitch and the ball glanced off his foot, making it a dead ball and the runners forced to return to their bases. Devers then grounded out to end the inning.
