Thomas says Celtics got 'punked' by Knicks (1:08)

Chris Forsberg ESPN Staff Writer

Boston Celtics guard Avery Bradley was a late scratch from Wednesday's loss to the New York Knicks. Bradley, who missed four games recently due to an Achilles strain, was sore after returning to game action on Monday night and Celtics coach Brad Stevens said it's likely he'll miss more time to fully recover. "I can see him missing a little bit more time," said Stevens. "I just think maybe he came back a little bit too early." Stevens stressed there's no further structural issue, Bradley is simply sore.

Knicks 117, Celtics 106: Boston hadn't lost to an inferior opponent since a home loss to Detroit on Nov. 30. The Celtics were 16-7 after that while losing only to teams ahead of them in the standings (Toronto x2, Oklahoma City x2, San Antonio, Houston, Cleveland). Isaiah Thomas (39 points, eight in a rare quiet 4th) and the Celtics were overdue for a clunker. Knicks dominated the glass and shot lights out (50.5 percent overall; 40 percent beyond 3-point arc).
