Rookie Andrew Benintendi's bases-loaded single in the 11th inning lifted the Red Sox to a 10-8 win over the Orioles. The victory helped Boston keep its three-game lead over the Yankees, who beat Minnesota for their eighth win in 10 games.

Camden Yards just went library silent when Red Sox 2B Dustin Pedroia fouled a ball off home plate that bounced up and hit him square in the face. Pedroia was down on his knee for a couple minutes, then left the game. He walked off the field under his own power and was replaced by Brock Holt, who promptly doubled.

Doug Fister may have just pitched himself right out of the Red Sox playoff rotation. The 33-year old righty had nothing against Baltimore tonight, allowing nine baserunners (four hits, five walks) and five earned runs in two-plus innings. It's the second straight clunker for Fister, whose ERA has risen from 3.91 to 4.86 in his last two starts.

Doug Fister's not fooling anybody early, except maybe for those who think he should be in Boston's playoff rotation. Through three innings against the Orioles: 4 runs, 3 hits, 3 walks, 1 mound visit, 1 reliever warming, and lots of loud outs.

Rob Gronkowski addressed reporters in the locker room moments ago. According to reporters on the scene, Gronkowski relayed that his groin injury is "nothing serious." That is consistent with what he said after the game, relaying, "I'm good."

The Patriots had WR River Cracraft (Washington State), WR Kenny Lawler (California), DB Robert Nelson (Arizona State), WR Nelson Spruce (Colorado) and DE Jonathan Woodard (Central Arkansas) in for free-agent workouts Monday. The team has one spot on the practice squad after waiving OL Willie Beavers on Saturday.
