Entering his start tonight, Chris Sale needs 13 strikeouts to tie Pedro Martinez's single-season Red Sox record. It's unclear whether Sale will make another start before the playoffs. He's lined up to start the regular-season finale Sunday against the Houston Astros. By then, though, the Red Sox likely will have clinched the AL East title. Their magic number is 3, with six games remaining.
