This is an exciting day with the launch of ESPNBoston.com, which will be a great addition to the local sports scene. When I think about all the possibilities -- from the written word to video and other cutting-edge media -- I'm excited to get started.
This space will be devoted solely to the Patriots, and here is what I am hoping to achieve:
Football first. The game itself will be the priority. No agendas allowed.
Vibrant community. Consistent updates with fresh content, and a comments section that welcomes varying opinions as long as they stay in bounds. A regular mailbag (send your questions here) will also be part of the mix.
Answering the "why". One of the most challenging aspects of covering football is explaining not just what happened, but also why it happened. The goal will be to uncover those hard-to-find answers as much as possible.
Enhancing the experience for Patriots fans. In the end, this is about you -- the valued reader. If you're stopping here, chances are you have an interest in the Patriots, and I hope to enhance that interest in different ways -- breaking news, personnel breakdowns, on-site reporting, videos and more.
