BOSTON -- Center Marc Savard will make his preseason debut today in the Boston Bruins' first home exhibition game against the New York Rangers at TD Garden.

Savard had been nursing a slight knee injury in the early days of camp.

Goaltender Tim Thomas will also make his preseason premier and newly signed defenseman Derek Morris will make his first Garden appearance in black and gold.

Here is how the Bruins skated lines and D pairs during warm-ups:

Forward
Lucic-Savard-Ryder
Sturm-Hamill-Sauve
LoVecchio-Begin-MacDonald
Thornton-Whitfield-Arniel

Defense
Stuart-Boychuk
Fata-Wideman
Penner-Morris

  • The Rangers will start Steve Valiquette in goal.
  • This marks the first time Thomas and Rangers uber-pest Sean Avery have been on the same ice since last April 4, when Avery tapped Thomas in the head while Thomas stretched during a television timeout. However, I wouldn't expect any funny stuff during an exhibition game.
  • The Rangers also have former Boston University Hobey Baker winner Matt Gilroy in their lineup on defense.
