WILMINGTON, Mass. -- It was a pretty uneventful morning Thursday at Ristuccia Arena. The Boston Bruins' non-game players for tonight's preseason contest in Montreal took the ice and those that will be facing the Canadiens had the morning off.

Here are a couple quick notes from the day:

  • Zdeno Chara, who was kept out of yesterday's practice for precautionary reasons, was back practicing.
  • Center David Krejci practiced hard again and bag skated after the session under the watchful eye of assistant coach Doug Houda. Krejci said there's now a better than 10 percent chance he'll play next Thursday in the season-opener against Washington. (Krejci had set those odds at the open of camp).
  • Tim Thomas will make the start against the Habs. Dany Sabourin will be his backup.
  • Here are the rest of the game players for tonight:

Patrice Bergeron, Zach Hamill, Chuck Kobasew, Guillaume Lefebvre, Jeff LoVecchio, Kirk MacDonald, Brad Marchand, Mark Recchi, Michael Ryder, Vladimir Sobotka, Blake Wheeler, Trent Whitfield, Johnny Boychuk, Drew Fata, Andrew Ference, Adam McQuaid, Mark Stuart, Dennis Wideman.

  • Unlike the rest of the exhibition schedule, the Bruins will not return home after the game. Instead they will bus to Ottawa for Friday night's game against the Senators.
  • The captain's take
The Bruins are 3-1-1 entering this stretch of their final three preseason games. They haven't really iced a lineup featuring more than half of their NHL regulars, so it's hard to judge how the club is coming together. Chara had the following to say on that matter:

"I think it's safe to say we've had an OK camp. We're not where we want to be yet, but that's why we have a training camp to make sure that we're ready for the season. We had some pretty good games and we had some games that we didn't play well. So it's fair that we have to make sure we approach these last three games as a regular season game and get ready for the opening."
