BOSTON -- Freshman quarterback Chase Rettig is back on the practice field for Boston College.
Rettig sprained his ankle in Saturday's game against Notre Dame. He returned to practice wearing a protective boot on Tuesday. On Wednesday, he was walking without the boot.
Rettig told reporters he would see how it goes.
Rettig made his collegiate debut against the Fighting Irish, but he lasted just over a quarter before spraining his ankle. Mike Marscovetra replaced him.
Also, The Boston Globe and Boston Herald reported that linebacker Mark Herzlich has a broken bone in his hand. It is not expected to keep him out of Saturday's game at North Carolina State.
