Patrice Bergeron plays Tuesday

X-rays on Patrice Bergeron's left leg, injured while blocking a shot Sunday against the Pittsburgh Penguins, came back negative, and the Bruins center was in the lineup for Tuesday's 6-1 loss against the Tampa Bay Lightning.

Defenseman Adam McQuaid (upper body), who also left Sunday's game, was a scratch.

Coach Claude Julien told the media after Tuesday's morning skate that Bergeron and McQuaid would dress for warm-ups, and a decision would be made after that.

"Again, we're going to dress 13 forwards and seven D and make sure that everything's OK for tonight," Julien said. "I haven't had a chance to really talk to our trainer on everything, but I know McQuaid and Bergeron are possibilities, but not certainties."

In other injury news for the Bruins, forward Daniel Paille (upper body), who has missed the last five games, returned to the lineup Tuesday.

Forward Max Sauve, also hurt against the Penguins, was sent back to Boston and wasn't available to play Tuesday. Benoit Pouliot (lower body), who has missed the last two games, was out Tuesday.

Forward Trent Whitfield, who was recalled from Providence (AHL) on an emergency basis, was on the active roster, while forward Lane MacDermid was scratched and assigned to Providence.
