Mostly Dreary, But Some Shining Lights

On the field, 2014 certainly wasn't a great year for Boston sports. The Patriots got things going with a loss to Peyton Manning and the Broncos in the AFC Championship Game, the favored Bruins lost to the hated Habs in the Stanley Cup playoffs, the Red Sox followed a miraculous World Series run with a shocking thud to the AL East cellar and the Celtics were, well, the Celtics. But there was some inspiration along the way, notably the emotional, triumphant return of the Boston Marathon and the Ice Bucket Challenge fundraising sensation. And there are signs of brighter days ahead -- the Pats are rolling, the B's are getting healthy and the Panda (and friends) should bring smiles to Fenway.
