For the second straight year, the Patriots traded down twice in the first round, from 22 to 24, then 24 to 27, and still get the player that Bill Belichick said they wanted all along in cornerback Devin McCourty of Rutgers. Receiver Dez Bryant was one notable player they passed on in the trade-down, but it's a pick that Bill Belichick seems pleased with, as McCourty has been a captain in each of the past two seasons. -- Mike Reiss
