1998: Edwards & Jones -- promise cut short

The combination of running back Robert Edwards (18th overall) and cornerback Tebucky Jones (22nd overall) offered promise, but Edwards (1,115 yards as a rookie) sustained a career-altering injury in an NFL beach flag football game in Hawaii and Jones never fit as the press corner the team envisioned. Jones was the type of corner that Carroll has found success with currently with the Seahawks. -- Mike Reiss
