The CVS Caremark Charity Classic, hosted annually by Brad Faxon and Billy Andrade, has unveiled some of the golfers that will make up the field for the 2012 tournament (June 17-19 at Rhode Island Country Club).
Playing in the tournament for the first time is top-ranked LPGA player Yani Tseng. Tseng has posted three victories and seven top-10 finishes so far this year. Other LPGA stars (or formers stars) making their first appearance in the event this year include teenage star Lexi Thompson and retired superstars Lorena Ochoa and Annika Sorenstam. Juli Inkster will also be back.
A number of Champions Tour players are also scheduled to appear, including Mark Calcavecchia, Corey Pavin and Peter Jacobsen. Other PGA, LPGA and Champions Tour players will be added as the event nears, filling out the 20-player field.
The tournament starts with the Pepsi Pro-Am on Sunday, June 17 followed by the two-day tournament on Monday, June 18 and Tuesday, June, 19.
