A deal was not reached by 5 p.m. ET on Wednesday so the WBA has formally ordered a purse bid for Golovkin-Jacobs. It will be Dec. 19 at the WBA offices in Panama. The sides could still make a deal until the time of the bid.

Andre Ward's disputed decision victory against Sergey Kovalev to win three light heavyweight title belts on Nov. 19 at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas generated a live gate of $3,341,980, according to figures released this week by the Nevada State Athletic Commission. Main Events and Roc Nation Sports, which co-promoted the fight, set up the 18,000-seat arena for 14,227 seats for the fight and sold 10,066 tickets. There were 1,636 complimentary tickets given away and 2,525 unsold tickets.
