Junior lightweight titlist Vasyl Lomachenko (7-1, 5 KOs) will be the subject of HBO's "2 Days" documentary series, the network has announced. It will debut on Saturday night at 12:10 a.m., immediately following HBO's replay of last Saturday's Gennady Golovkin-Daniel Jacobs and Roman "Chocolatito" Gonzalez-Srisaket Sor Rungvisai fights that were on pay-per-view. HBO's cameras followed Lomachenko, also a former featherweight titleholder, during the 48 hours leading up to his one-sided seventh-round knockout of Nicholas Walters in November. Lomachenko makes his 2017 debut on April 8 (HBO, 10 p.m. ET/PT) when he headlines a tripleheader in a defense against former titlist Jason Sosa (20-1-4, 15 KOs) at MGM National Harbor in Oxon Hill, Maryland.

I just spoke to lightweight champion Jorge Linares, who is in England for his rematch with Anthony Crolla on Saturday (Showtime, 6 p.m. ET). Though he didn't want to get too far ahead of himself he told me after he beats Crolla again he wants to come back to the U.S. and wants to unify titles with Mikey Garcia and also would love for junior lightweight titlist Vasyl Lomachenko to come up to lightweight to challenge him. "Am I capable of beating Mikey Garcia and Vasyl Lomachenko? Right now I can beat both of them, but I have to get my job done on Saturday night."

Tough night for Roman "Chocolatito" Gonzalez. He lost his unbeaten record against Srisaket Sor Rungvisai, his junior bantamweight belt and probably his No. 1 spot in ESPN's pound-for-pound rankings, according to Dan Rafael.

After the Michael Conlan victory at Madison Square Garden, UFC featherweight champ Conor McGregor came to ringside and started shouting at me in my face: "You're the boxing guy?!!!" I said back to him, "I'm the boxing guy." Conor: "I'm the boxing guy! Watch me take over boxing, trust me on that. No one in this boxing game knows what's coming. Trust me on that. I'm going to step in there and shock the whole goddamn world. Trust me on that. Look me in the eyes, 28 years of age, confident as a m---- f----- long, rangy, dangerous with every hand. Trust me, I'm going to stop Floyd and you're all going to eat your words. The whole world is going to eat their words. It's getting close. Don't worry about it. You'll hear about it. I'm out of here." And then he left. I have never met Conor. Didnt know he knew who I even was.
