Always on his toes, always lunging in and out, always dropping his arms to keep his opponent from seeing where his hands are coming from, Martinez is the ultimate peek-a-boo puncher. He'll get in his opponent's face, goad him into taking the initiative and unload with a blinding counter-attack. (See the Paul Williams KO for better reference.) His short, awkward, punishing jab is as effective as it is unorthodox and hard to defend. But what about Chavez? Short answer: He's just slow. No zip whatsoever regardless of his respectable firepower. Biggest gap between them in any category.
