Junior flyweight titlist Donnie Nietes of the Philippines and Mexico's Moises Fuentes, who battled to an action-packed draw last year, will meet in a rematch.
Sean Gibbons of Zanfer Promotions, which represents Fuentes, said Wednesday that the fight is set for May 10 at the SM Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City, Philippines.
Nietes, a former strawweight titlist, and Fuentes first met last March 2 in Cebu, Philippines and waged a tremendous battle that the judges scored a majority draw. One judge had the fight 115-113 for Nietes while the other two judges had the fight a draw, 114-114.
Fuentes suffered a nose injury and Nietes suffered cuts over both of his eyes as they went toe to toe for long stretches of an intense fight.
Fuentes (19-1-1, 10 KOs), 28, has won three fights in a row since the draw while Nietes (32-1-4, 18 KOs), 31, has fought once, a third-round knockout of Sammy Gutierrez in a Nov. 30 title defense in the Philippines.
Nietes will be making his fourth title defense when he faces Fuentes again.
