Five keys for Mike Alvarado

For all-action fighter Mike Alvarado, there is simply no tomorrow.

One fight removed from the loss of his junior welterweight title by stoppage to Ruslan Provodnikov in October, the 33-year-old Denver native finds himself in the biggest fight of his career, on Saturday against Juan Manuel Marquez at The Forum in Inglewood, California (HBO, 10:15 p.m. ET/PT).

For Alvarado (34-2, 23 KOs), the opportunity to face a surefire Hall of Famer in Marquez (55-7-1, 40 KOs) and potentially catapult himself into even bigger fights breathes life back into his career. To help his cause, Alvarado has even moved his training camp away from his home city to Los Angeles in order to focus on the task at hand.

Here are five keys Alvarado should consider ahead of Saturday's fight:

Make him work

Change the recipe

Be the bigger man

Let's go crazy

Go big or go home
