Former British light-middleweight champion Anthony Small has been charged with a terror offence.

Small (23-2, 16 KOs), who last boxed eight years ago, is accused of encouraging acts of terrorism in connection with a video posted on social media in September 2016.

The Londoner has been investigated by Metropolitan Police's Counter Terrorism Command and is due to appear in custody at Westminster magistrates' court on Jan. 24.

Small, 36, lost the British title in a second defence when he was out-pointed by Sam Webb by majority decision in March 2010, and he has not fought since. He won the British and Commonwealth light-middleweight titles by defeating Matthew Hall in 2009.
