Five keys for Kendall Holt

play
Lamont Peterson Fights On (4:31)

"Friday Night Fights" profiles Lamont Peterson and his long road to the top. (4:31)

Former junior welterweight champ Kendall Holt (28-5, 16 KOs) will be making what might amount to his last stand as a premier fighter when he challenges 140-pound titlist Lamont Peterson (30-1-1, 15 KOs) at the D.C. Armory in Washington on Friday (ESPN2/WatchESPN, 9 p.m. ET). For Holt, who has lost three of his past six fights (but won two of his past three), it's a golden opportunity to snatch a new belt and potentially set up better purses in bouts against other titleholders in the division. But in order to make it happen, he'll need to focus on five keys:

Movement and combinations

Don't forget the hook

Press the action early

Think about the title

Stick to the game plan
