The Cubs won 1-0 over the Pirates on Tuesday, scoring on an unearned run in the second inning. It's the first time they won a game without registering an RBI since July, 2011. The story of the game was Kyle Hendricks who was actually being out pitched by Pirates starter Gerritt Cole early on. But Hendricks locked in after a couple innings and looked like his old self. According to ESPN Stats and Info, the Pirates were 0 for 6 in at bats which ended on a change up. The Cubs have won another series with a chance at a sweep on Wednesday.

Kyle Hendricks is pitching a gem for the Cubs as he's through 6 innings having given up 4 hits and 2 walks without giving up a run. The outing started shaky, as have his other starts this year, but he locked in just in time to match Gerritt Cole pitch for pitch. The Cubs lead 1-0 in the seventh on an unearned run,

After Jimmy Butler questioned his toughness, Marcus Smart fired back on Tuesday: "I ain't gotta talk about what I am about. I could show you, but I'm not going to tell you. So, like I said, it ain't hard to find me. And you heard him, he said, ‘I don't think Marcus Smart's about that life?' Last time I checked, if you're going to say somebody ain't about that life, you should know, right?"

Despite signing Mike Glennon in free agency, quarterback is still a priority for the Bears. Although it seems unlikely Chicago grabs a quarterback at No. 3 overall, the Bears could address the position a little later in the draft. Two names to watch: Miami's Brad Kaaya and California's Davis Webb.

The Bears named running back Jordan Howard and wide receiver Josh Bellamy as this year's Brian Piccolo Award winners. The Piccolo Award is voted on by Bears players only who reward one rookie and one veteran player they feel best exemplifies the courage, loyalty, teamwork, dedication and sense of humor of the late Brian Piccolo.

Interesting note from ESPN Stats & Information: only four defensive backs have been picked in top 3 in common draft era (Shawn Springs '97, Eric Turner '91, Bruce Pickens '91 and Bennie Blades '88). Still, the Bears only had eight interceptions last year, tied for 2nd fewest in NFL. If the Bears cannot trade the 3rd overall pick and Stanford DE Solomon Thomas is off the board, the Bears could strongly consider LSU safety Jamal Adams, Ohio State safety Malik Hooker or Ohio State cornerback Marshon Lattimore.
