Kluber, Lester had fastballs working

Corey Kluber's seven strikeouts on fastballs in Game 1 was the most by a pitcher in a single World Series game since ESPN began tracking such data in 2009. Jon Lester was right behind him with six K's on the heater.

Nearly eight hours before first pitch of Game 2, the Indians ground crew is putting down the tarp. According to The Weather Channel, rain could start rolling into Cleveland around 1 p.m. ET. Rain and wind could be an issue tonight, one of the reasons the start time was moved up an hour.

Miami gave up eight sacks last week in a loss to Virginia Tech, while Notre Dame has struggled to get after the passer (six sacks in seven games). Notre Dame coach Brian Kelly said he is not reading too much into the Hurricanes' performance last week as an indicator his team might get more sacks Saturday. "Virginia Tech can be an avalanche," Kelly said. "Bud Foster does a great job of doing that against everybody. He's been doing that for 30 years."

Joe Maddon said he liked David Ross against Andrew Miller with the bases loaded in the seventh inning in Game 1 over a pinch hitter because he felt Ross gave the Cubs the best chance at a walk OR hit. Ross struck out to end the Cubs best threat of the night.
