According to the Elias Sports Bureau, the Dodgers are the first team since 1917 to shutout the defending World Series champion in back-to-back games while issuing 3 or fewer hits in each one. The Cubs had two hits on Friday and just 3 hits on Saturday in losing both games by a combined 9-0 score. All five hits over the two games were singles.

The Cubs lost 5-0 to the Dodgers on Saturday getting shutout for the 2nd straight game. This time Brandon McCarthy held them in check giving up just two hits over 6 innings. Meanwhile John Lackey was looking good for a couple innings but blew up in the fifth when he walked the pitcher and then gave up a HR to Chris Taylor. The Dodgers added two more runs on a Chase Utley single and never looked back. The Cubs have 5 singles in two days against Dodger pitching.
