CHICAGO Teams

Interesting note from ESPN Stats & Information: only four defensive backs have been picked in top 3 in common draft era (Shawn Springs '97, Eric Turner '91, Bruce Pickens '91 and Bennie Blades '88). Still, the Bears only had eight interceptions last year, tied for 2nd fewest in NFL. If the Bears cannot trade the 3rd overall pick and Stanford DE Solomon Thomas is off the board, the Bears could strongly consider LSU safety Jamal Adams, Ohio State safety Malik Hooker or Ohio State cornerback Marshon Lattimore.

Want some encouraging Bears' draft news? Members of the Bears 2016 draft class -- Cody Whitehair, Leonard Floyd and Jordan Howard -- all started at least 12 games last year.

As it stands, the Bears have seven picks in the '17 draft (3, 36, 67, 111, 117, 147, 221). This is Chicago's third straight year with a top-10 pick, teams longest steak since 5 straight from 1972-76.
