Kyle Schwarber was kicked out of the game by home plate umpire John Tumpane after arguing a called strike 3 that looked high. He and Tumpane began arguing before Javy Baez got in between them to help settle Schwarber down. Joe Maddon then had his say with the umpire also. Schwarber had a questionable strike 1 call on him in the previous at-bat as well.

Cubs OF Ian Happ hit the franchise's 14,000th HR tonight. He was also the fastest to 20 homers (last season) in team history and has hit a home run from both sides of the plate in a game and now both ends of a doubleheader. Plus, he delivered the weather on the weather channel earlier this week. But it's those home runs he'll remember the most: “There have been some cool ones. For a storied organization, to have some of those with your name on them, that's special.”

Ian Happ has homered in both ends of the doubleheader against the Reds today making him the first Cub since Chris Coghlan in 2014 to achieve that accomplishment. He's been on base 11 times in 2.5 games of the series so far, including 4 times via IBB. Happ was a candidate to be sent down to the minors not that long ago but he's gotten hot, raising his OBP to over .350.
