The Cubs beat the Giants 8-3 after Tyler Chatwood lasted only 2.2 innings as once again his control was off, but lefty Randy Rosario calmed things down in relief, earning his first big league win. The bullpen shut down the Giants for the final 6.1 innings in a game that went 3.5 hours. The Cubs have a day game in Pittsburgh on Monday so they won't be able to celebrate the victory very long.

Cubs lefty Mike Montgomery will start on Monday against the Pirates as he essentially replaces Yu Darvish in the rotation, at least for one outing. Darvish (right triceps) went on the DL on Saturday pushing Tyler Chatwood up to pitch on Sunday, leaving Monday open for Montgomery who will make his first start of the season.

Down as many as 14 in the fourth quarter Friday night, the Storm used strong defense to improbably rally and beat the Chicago Sky 95-91 in overtime. Jewell Loyd, who led all scorers with 29 points, made a pair of 3s in the final 30 seconds to help the Storm tie the game. Breanna Stewart took it from there, scoring seven of her 28 points in overtime. Natasha Howard had a double-double of 16 points and 10 rebounds, plus a game-saving block on Diamond DeShields at the end of regulation.

Not surprisingly considering the time of year, Theo Epstein said today there have been "zero trade talks" between the Cubs and other teams. Any report to the contrary is false, according to Epstein.
