Arkansas and Texas A&M are long gone from AT&T Stadium following their game Saturday night but the grounds crew is hard at work in the wee hours changing the field for the NFL game Sunday night in this very stadium as the Dallas Cowboys host the Chicago Bears.

Some old problems have popped up to hamper Nebraska in its Big Ten opener -- and the turnovers so far have been extra painful. The Huskers have fumbled on the goal line twice to let Northwestern and its stagnant offense hang around at halftime, though they still took a slim 3-point lead into intermission. Mike Riley won't be happy with the ball security, and the Huskers are surely going to hear plenty about it in the locker room.

Notre Dame, USC both have three losses. This is the second time in the last 50 years both have had three losses before October (also 2001).

Duke coach David Cutcliffe said DeVon Edwards' knee injury is likely a season-ending ligament tear, but confirmation will come tomorrow. Cutcliffe adds that Edwards and QB Thomas Sirk, both fifth-year seniors who have injuries, are two of the best people -- not football players -- but people he's ever been around in his life.

Notre Dame coach Brian Kelly says personnel changes are coming, but he's pleased with defensive coaching today: "Coaching had nothing to do with the outcome today."

Can Huskers exact revenge?

ESPN's Football Power Index indicates Nebraska will have an excellent opportunity to avoid a two-game losing streak in the series, having lost at home to Northwestern 30-28 last season.

"Duke gang, baby!" The Blue Devils, 21-point underdogs, head to their locker room pumped after a 38-35 win at Notre Dame.

New Duke DL coach Ben Albert deserves plenty of credit this season, and today. The Blue Devils recorded their 15th sack of the year and pressured DeShone Kizer into a pick on back to back plays. Albert coached a great d-line at Boston College last season, and now the Blue Devils are in position to take the lead late.

Duke came to win, but the Blue Devils are now 0-2 on 4th downs after getting stuffed on a 4th and 1 run at the ND 19. The Blue Devils have struggled in the kicking game, but you wonder if they would've been better served passing it or running a bootleg with Daniel Jones. Notre Dame now gets the ball looking to break a 28-28 tie.

Cubs starter Jason Hammel talks about his rough outing against the Cardinals on Saturday, one in which he wishes he had done things a little bit differently.

The boo birds are out at Notre Dame Stadium at halftime, and why wouldn't they be? The Irish have been sloppy in all three phases so far, allowing redshirt freshman QB Daniel Jones to go 13 of 15 for 147 yards and 2 TDs in leading Duke to a 28-21 lead. The Irish have missed a field goal, given away a fumble and allowed a kick return TD. Additionally, Duke is without its best player in DeVon Edwards (leg). But the Blue Devils have bounced back from an early 14-0 hole, and they'll also get back safety Deondre Singleton, who had to sit the first half because of targeting last week.

Cubs manager Joe Maddon discusses the on-again, off-again nature of Jason Hammel's outings of late.
