According to the White Sox, the club sold around 5,000 tickets for tonight's game since last night's announcement that Yoan Moncada was being recalled from Triple-A Charlotte. Or maybe they all just found out it's Game of Thrones night.

Watch Mike Montgomery discuss what was better his pitching or hitting in the Cubs 8-2 win over the Braves. Montgomery hit a HR and pitched 6 solid innings. He did get the ball back.

Big cheer for Yoan Moncada as he walked to the plate for his first White Sox at-bat. After falling behind Kenta Maeda 0-2, Moncada worked the count full, bringing much of the crowd to its feet, as if the game were on the line. He ended up drawing a walk. Safe to say the good people of Chicago's South Side are happy to have their new second baseman around. Most of the lower bowl is full tonight, which makes me wonder if there was an unusually large volume of walk-up ticket sales today.

The Dodgers continue to sizzle, jumping to a quick 1-0 when Chris Taylor takes White Sox lefty Carlos Rodon into the opposite-field bullpen in right to lead off the game. Remember how lefties owned Dodger batters last year? Taylor is a big reason that is no longer the case. He now has a 1.117 OPS against southpaws this season. That was his 11th homer.

Here is a little snippet of Yoan Moncada's first turn at batting practice as a member of the White Sox's big-league roster.

Chicago Cubs infielder Javy Baez homered for the second consecutive game and now has multi-hit games in his past four contests. Two seasons ago we expected Baez to soon hit 30 homers in a season, and steal bases. He has the bat speed. Has the foot speed. We overlook the plate discipline. So far Baez looks like a 20-homer guy and he's not running but let's remember he's only 24 and remains a strong dynasty league target.

Yoan Moncada's arrival in Chicago today brought in a few more microphones and cameras than we've seen at Guaranteed Rate Field lately. Here is Moncada and White Sox team interpreter Billy Russo discussing what he focused on during his time with Triple-A Charlotte.
