Matt Davidson hit two of Chicago's five home runs, leading the White Sox to a 6-3 victory over the Kansas City Royals on Thursday night.

Bears general manager Ryan Pace believes first-round pick Georgia ILB Roquan Smith has everything the team is looking for at the linebacker position.
Bears general manager Ryan Pace confirms that Chicago attempted to move back into the end of the first round, but they were unsuccessful. Still, Pace says he's "fired about" about the players that could be available at 39 overall in Friday's second round. The Bears do not currently own a third round draft choice.
Offensive guard Quenton Nelson went to the Colts at No. 6 and offensive tackle Mike McGlinchey went to the 49ers at No. 9 on Thursday night, giving Notre Dame two picks in the top 10 for the first time since 1993.
Watch Kyle Schwarber react to hitting a home run in a 1-0 win over Milwaukee on Thursday.
The Bears are known for stud linebackers, and they think they've drafted their latest star 'backer in Butkus Award winner Roquan Smith.
Kyle Hendricks outpitched Chase Anderson with seven crisp innings, and the Chicago Cubs stopped Milwaukee's eight-game win streak with a 1-0 victory over the Brewers on Thursday night.
Cubs manager Joe Maddon said Thursday that the talk that Yu Darvish "doesn't compete" is "absolutely fabricated and false."
LB Roquan Smith was one of the top players I watched on film this year. 4.51 speed to the ball. Tackling at the point of attack. And the ability to play in space. Smith has the talent to make an immediate impact on the Bears defense.
Tampa's trade with Buffalo works out perfectly for the Bears. The Bills take a quarterback, and now the Bears have plenty of options to choose from at No. 8 -- Roquan Smith, Derwin James, Tremaine Edmunds, Minkah Fitzpatrick, etc.
The Bears were very high on Notre Dame OL Quenton Nelson, who the Colts just took at No. 6. Derwin James, Roquan Smith, Minkah Fitzpatrick and Tremaine Edmunds are among the possible options for Chicago at No. 8.
NC State DE Bradley Chubb too good to pass up for Denver at No. 5. Bears now three picks away. Good bet Roquan Smith or Quenton Nelson goes to Colts at No. 6. Tampa may be the wildcard at No. 7. Bears still in position to land impact player.
Surprise pick for the Browns at No. 4: Ohio State cornerback Denzel Ward. That means Bradley Chubb, Quenton Nelson and Roquan Smith are all still available. The Bears may have to consider moving up for Chubb -- if they can swing a deal.
Saquon Barkley comes off the board at No. 2 overall via the New York Giants. Was always a huge long shot that Barkley would've fallen far enough for the Bears to either move up to take him ,or draft him at No. 8, but Barkley is the best offensive player in the draft. The Bears would've been crazy not to draft Barkley had they been given the opportunity. With the Jets going QB at No. 3 overall, the drama for the Bears is what non-QB the Browns take at No. 4, or if Cleveland decides to trade the pick.
With Baker Mayfield going No. 1 overall to Cleveland, now it gets interesting for the Bears. Best case scenario for Chicago is the Giants at No. 2 take a quarterback; freeing up more non-QBs for the Bears to consider at No. 8. The quarterbacks, and when they come off the board, is the key for the Bears tonight.
While Joe Maddon said that Cubs third baseman Kris Bryant could be available off the bench against Milwaukee on Thursday night, he was out of the starting lineup for the third straight game since being beaned Sunday.
Notre Dame cornerback Nick Watkins, who graduates this spring, will play his final year of eligibility elsewhere.
The Cubs say no change in the status of Kris Bryant who remains "under evaluation" after getting hit in the helmet by a pitch on Sunday. He'll miss his third straight game and is scheduled to meet with the Cubs team doctor today. Tommy La Stella starts at third base in his place.
Play Javier Baez at shortstop full time? Every club has a move that could improve its 2018 before it's too late.
