Pieper will meet with the Cubs regarding a possible reunion with Kawasaki though the infielder is debating whether he wants to play in the states again. It's likely he will. Uehara is an outside fit for the Cubs as a body for the back end of the bullpen though at 42 years old he's hardly the answer at closer.
