Hendricks' Wrigley success is historic

Kyle Hendricks' 1.24 ERA over his first 13 home starts (he threw two scoreless innings in relief this season, so his overall home ERA is 1.21) is the lowest for any Cubs pitcher since earned runs were first tracked in the NL in 1912, per the Elias Sports Bureau. The previous low was Grover Alexander (1.33 in 1920).

The Cubs' Kyle Hendricks departs for a pinch-hitter after seven shutout innings against the Pirates. He's allowed two runs or fewer in six straight starts, three or fewer in 18 straight, and no more than four all season. His 2.09 ERA now leads San Francisco's Madison Bumgarner by 0.40 for the MLB lead.
