Jay Cutler's return to Denver is just one of many subplots in Saturday's preseason game at Mile High Stadium.

It only took a mere 15 minutes after Saturday night's game against the Giants for Jay Cutler to field a question about returning to Denver.

"It'll be a lot of fun, are y'all going?" Cutler joked late Saturday evening. "It's a preseason game -- obviously there's going to be a little bit of drama wrapped around it, but we just have to focus and keep moving forward as an offense, and keep doing the stuff out there on the field that's going to help us in the future."

I'm eager to see if Cutler and the offense can duplicate their performance from this past weekend. Plus, the Broncos are transitioning to a 3-4 base alignment on defense. Why is that noteworthy? Because Week 1 opponent Green Bay is in the midst of the same transformation, so it'll be beneficial for the Bears to scout and prepare to a face a 3-4 this week in practice.

This upcoming weekend also offers an opportunity to see Kyle Orton run Josh McDaniels' offense. Orton predictably bounced back from his disastrous preseason debut, completing 16 of his first 19 throws against Seattle -- finishing 18-of-26 for 182 yards with one TD and one INT.

Lastly, there's always the never-ending saga of Denver's Brandon Marshall. The disgruntled wide receiver didn't accompany the Broncos to Seattle, and is still trying to force his way out of town. Even if Marshall doesn't play against the Bears, his story will also add to the buzz of the evening. This guy is like a bad car wreck -- you just can't look away.

Cutler's right: This should be a fun week.
