The Chicago White Sox filled in some of the gaps on their 40-man roster Friday by adding three players from the minor leagues.
The team purchased the contracts of right-hander Anthony Carter and shortstop Eduardo Escobar from Double-A Birmingham, while also purchasing the contract of right-hander Nate Jones from Single-A Winston Salem.
Carter and Escobar both had solid showings in the Arizona Fall League, with both being named to the AFL Rising Stars Team. Jones, in his first season as a starter, went 11-6 with a 4.08 ERA in 2010 with Winston-Salem.
The White Sox's 40-man roster is now at 34 players.
