The Chicago Cubs have promoted top prospects Brett Jackson and Ryan Flaherty from Double-A Tennessee to Triple-A Iowa, according to a source familiar with the situation.
Jackson, a center fielder, was the Cubs' top pick -- 31st overall -- in 2009, and Flaherty, who's played every position except pitcher and catcher at Tennessee, was the 41st overall pick in '08.
Both may be playing in Wrigley Field this season after gaining some experience in Iowa.
In 83 games in Tennessee, Flaherty hit .305 with 14 home runs and 66 RBIs, while Jackson -- who battled a hand injury -- hit .256 with 10 homers and 32 RBIs in 67 games.
