"He's had (a stiff neck) the past couple days, but played through it," manager Robin Ventura said. "Today it's just more of being cautious so nothing happens."
Ventura added that he didn't believe Konerko's injury happened on the field. He said the team was just being cautious and sitting Konerko out on Sunday gives him two days to rest with Monday as a scheduled off day for the team.
Konerko has been one of the few bright spots on the offensive side of things for the White Sox. In 21 games, Konerko is batting .383 and has a team-leading five home runs.
